Course overview

This course is designed to develop your individual leadership style so you can inspire, uplift and encourage yourself, your team, department and company.

In this highly interactive course, we will demystify leadership by breaking it down into 4 main components; Psychology, Productivity, Persuasion and People. Through discussions and self-assessments, participants will become aware of their style of leadership and learn strategies on how to build upon their leadership skills in order to have an edge in today’s workplace to become a High Performance Leader.

Participants will develop an action plan in order to sustain their momentum after the course:

  • Participants will explore and reflect upon their personal leadership attributes

  • To advance their personal and professional capacity to add value to their lives in order to add value to other people and their organization.

  • Heightened learning through coaching, self-reflection exercises as well as discussions with like-minded people.

  • To advance their interpersonal skills in order to address and correct performance challenges as well increasing efficacy of proper feedback.

  • To maximize their daily output in order to achieve tasks, goals etc. in a shorter time span.

  • To realize that in leadership, the only way to raise yourself up is to raise the people around you through coaching, encouragement and development.

 

Course Syllabus

session 1

Psychology

Through self-assessments and awareness exercises, participants will come to realize that how they view themselves as an individual and a leader is in direct proportion to the results they are currently getting.
In order to change those results and really accelerate your career, you will need to develop a more positive self-image. Strategies and practical exercises will help anchor the better self-image into your consciousness and you will be able to apply them into your role as a leader.

 

session 2

Productivity

Being more productive is not about becoming busier. High Performing Leaders are more productive and are able to accomplish more in order to lead a more fulfilling life.

Three key factors go into becoming more productive:

  • Time - the pressing need to make the most out of your day

  • Attention - the focus and awareness needed to become more productive

  • Energy - an abundance of energy to meet deadlines and task completion

Participants will explore and learn strategies of proper planning as well as ways on overcoming the pressures of competing priorities.

 

session 3

Persuasion

To lead a team, a leader must have efficient persuasive and influencing skills in order to get the “buy in” to drive results.

Participants will participate in discussions of their challenges as well as complete exercises of case studies in order to draw comparisons in today’s challenging workforce.

Participants will also learn strategies on having those tough conversations to correct poor performance and develop the confidence to have the conversations. Participants will be armed with techniques, strategies and the confidence to deal with a wide range of situations that can be implemented immediately.

 

session 4

People

A High Performing Leader realizes that in order to raise themselves up, they need to raise others around them. In fact, a key study on leadership identified that leaders had someone at some point believe in them and that was the motivating factor for them to succeed.*

Participants will identify the key people around them they will need to coach and develop in order to elevate their role as a leader. Strategies and techniques will be shared in order for the participants to begin developing their people immediately.
